Anglican Overseas Aid’s accounts are subject to an annual audit.
A copy of the audited financial statements must be lodged with the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) within five months of the completion of the financial year.

Who keeps us accountable?
As a professional international development organisation, Anglican Overseas Aid is a member of or answerable to a number of official bodies that hold us accountable for the way we use funds and how we do our work. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with these bodies.
The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) is the peak council for Australian not-for-profit aid and development organisations. It was founded in 1965 and has more than 100 member agencies.
Anglican Overseas Aid is a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, which defines minimum standards of governance, management and accountability for non-government development organisations. The Code has an independent complaints handling process.

Anglican Overseas Aid is also committed to the ACFID Fundraising Charter.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is the Australian Government department that is responsible for managing Australia’s overseas aid program and budget.
Anglican Overseas Aid has full accreditation with DFAT. This means we meet and operate in accordance with the quality standards required under the Australian Government Aid program. As a fully accredited agency, we receive Australian Government funds for a number of our programs.

The Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) is the national peak body representing professional fundraising in Australia.
Anglican Overseas Aid is an Organisational Member of the FIA, and we adhere to and comply with their Principles and Standards of Fundraising Practice
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is the independent national regulator of charities.
Anglican Overseas Aid is registered with the ACNC.
Anglican Overseas Aid is a member of the global ACT Alliance, a coalition of more than 140 churches and affiliated organisations working together in more than 100 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards. We often respond to disasters and emergencies through our membership of the ACT Alliance.
